What you should be able to do
You should be able to zoom to 400% without text spilling off the screen, use the service at a phone width of 320 pixels without scrolling sideways, reach every control with a keyboard, see where the keyboard focus is, and hear status changes such as a saved form announced by a screen reader.
Compliance status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. The service is partially compliant: every page passes automated checks, but the manual review described below has not been completed, so we do not yet claim full compliance.
How we test
Every change to the service is checked before release by an automated accessibility scan (axe) against WCAG 2.2 AA on every page, signed in as each type of user, at seven screen widths from 320 to 1440 pixels. A change that introduces a failure is not released. A manual screen-reader and keyboard-only review of the assessment and judgement screens is planned before the service is used for live assessment.
Content we know is not accessible
Evidence files uploaded by training providers, employers and apprentices, such as PDFs, documents and recordings, are shown as they were supplied. We do not control how they were made, and they may not be accessible. If you need an evidence file in another format, ask the organisation that holds your assessment record.
Reporting a problem or asking for another format
Email info@techgeekuk.com with the page address and what went wrong. We will reply within five working days. If you are an apprentice and need a reasonable adjustment to your assessment itself, contact your end-point assessment organisation, which decides adjustments.
Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the accessibility regulations. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
